M Cubed Technologies provides customers with material
solutions using its advanced composite materials,
manufacturing expertise and application skills. M Cubed's
composite materials provide the performance of ceramics with
the shaping flexibility normally associated with metals. M
Cubed materials are used today in light-weight armor systems
and in semiconductor capital equipment. Expansion into target
markets for electronics packaging, automotive engine
components and power plant components is currently being
implemented. The Company is the largest supplier of ceramic
composite materials for body armor to the US Defense Forces.
M Cubed was founded in 1993 as a subsidiary of Lanxide
Corporation, a world leader in the development of advanced
composite materials. In 1995, the Company was purchased by a
group of venture capital investors. In addition to the
materials technology acquired through a license agreement with
Lanxide, M Cubed has developed a variety of advanced materials
targeting applications in the armor, semiconductor capital
equipment, chip manufacturing and electronics packaging
markets.
The Company's products are tailored to satisfy specific
application needs, using combinations of ceramics, carbon
fibers, nano-materials, and various metals. The Company's
materials technology is scaleable both in terms of high volume
production and in the size and complexity of product shapes.
This allows M Cubed's material solutions to be developed and
leveraged across various markets, creating economies of scale,
higher margins and sustainable competitive advantage.
M Cubed's technology and market position is protected by an extensive
patent portfolio including those licensed from Lanxide corporation.
In addition, new technology developments are being protected by
numerous patent applications and process know-how.
M Cubed's material solutions provide the marketplace with
products that enable better performance, lower cost or both.
The Company is the leading high volume supplier of premium
ceramic composites for personnel armor to the US Defense
forces. In this market, the Company's products offer
significant cost advantage to the customer resulting from
proprietary process technology. M Cubed is well positioned to
expand this business into the global vehicle armor, aircraft
and helicopter armor segments.
In the semiconductor capital equipment market, the Company's
customers are keen on improving product
performance. M Cubed's advanced
materials solutions have been designed in the platforms of
major semiconductor equipment OEMs.
Other target markets include electronics packaging for power modules
in the emerging HEV (Hybrid Electric Vehicle) market, engine
components for premium automobiles and components for thermal
power plants. The current focus is to establish strategic
alliances and teaming arrangements with select partners that
can expand M Cubed's global presence in core and target
markets.
